The chair is responsible for the quality of patient care and building the research successes of the department

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) and Board Certified in Pediatrics.

State of Kansas medical license or eligible for licensure.

Ability to qualify as member of hospital medical staff and University practice plan.

Minimum of five years of experience as faculty member at an accredited medical school in the United States.

Proven success in administrative role.

Strong ability to work collaboratively with leaders of various entities in the advancement of medical education.

Excellent ve! rbal, writing and presentation skills.

Experience in ! management of residency programs or fellowships.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to set and achieve organizational, departmental, and individual goals.

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care and develop strong clinical teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with community hospital leadership.

Proven capabilities in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource management, and related decision making.
