Physicians Needed: 2 Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists

! Treatment Type: Outpatient â€" Hospital facility hosts all outpatient clinic services

Contract Commitment: Minimum 1 year with option to extend to 2 years

Qualification Requirements:
1.1 EDUCATION: The psychiatrist is required to be a Doctor of Medicine.

1.2 LICENSURE: The psychiatrist is required to hold a valid license to legally practice the specialty of Psychiatry in one of the 50 states in the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.

1.3 RESIDENCY: The psychiatrist shall have completed a psychiatric residency and child and adolescent fellowship training approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Will accept candidates recently completing fellowship.

1.4 EXPERIENCE: The psychiatrist shall have sufficient experience to effectively provide psychiatric medical services for patients and family mem! bers as it relates to family therapy. Shall have worked at lea! st one of the past three years with children and adolescents. The psychiatrist shall be competent to treat children and adolescents for crisis intervention and ongoing psychotherapy/medical management.

1.5 CERTIFICATION: The psychiatrist shall have and maintain a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.

2. Specific Tasks

Through the provision of service under this contract, Psychiatrist will be required to perform the following duties and tasks:

2.1 Comprehensive evaluations of children and their families according to the quality assurance guidelines of the Child and Family Psychiatry Program.

2.2 Work as a team member with other psychiatrist(s), social worker(s), psychologist(s), and behavior science specialist(s) to coordinate evaluations, treatment planning, and referrals. The age range of the usual referrals will be anywhere from after birth to the end of the 17th year; however family and parental work wi! th adults will usually be necessary.

2.3 Provide consultation services to the child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry team to assist in evaluation treatment and discharge planning for adolescent patients. Provide consultation to pediatrics and internal medicine for inpatient assessment of psychiatrically disturbed children with medical problems. Assist in planning and implementing primary prevention efforts at the MTF to include directing support groups, parenting classes, and conducting briefings on topics of related areas for interested parties.

2.4 Adult Inpatient and Outpatient Program: May be required to provide psychiatric services to adults in the absence of staff psychiatrist, such as during the contract HCP’s on?call duty.

2.5 Review patient histories and social work evaluations, interview patients to obtain insight into their problems and determine the need for longterm residential treatment. Prepare inpatient workup to includ! e history and physician treatment plan. Diagnose and establish treatmen! t plan for each patient and initiate inpatient workup to include history and physician treatment plan.

2.6 Mental status evaluations, formulations, diagnosis (es) and detailed treatment plans utilizing a bio psychosocial paradigm. Make referrals for further diagnostic psychologic or medical testing as needed. Determine the need for supplemental data such as psychosocial history, medical history, neurological or other medical procedures or tests, etc.

2.7 Provide individual, group, family, and pharmacologic therapeutic interventions as necessary.

2.8 Provide crisis intervention and referral for psychiatric hospitalization.

2.9 Provide psychotherapy to include group, individual, behavior modification and drug therapy.

2.10 As appropriate, communicate with patients, patient's families and others to obtain personal and social
