Mid-Level Provider PreAdmission Assessment Clinic PRN( Job Number: 00323-10407) Work Location: United States-Kansas-Wichita-Wesley Medical Cente! r Schedule: PRN/Per Diem Description Provides clinical expertise and has received formal education with supervised clinical experience in the management of patients and their families. The Mid-Level Provider manages a caseload of patients with consultation, collaboration and medical supervision, utilizing the acquired knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology and pharmacology. The Mid-Level Provider exercises independent judgment in assessment and diagnosis of the patient, and performance of delegated procedures in the clinical setting. The Mid-Level Provider participates in the development of guidelines for patient care, and serves as a resource in the Pre-Admission Clinic.

Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs. Provides clinical coverage for patients Utilizes appropri! ate diagnostic and physical assessments to aid in the developm! ent and implementation of the medical/nursing plan of care in collaboration with the supervising physician to manage illness and promote wellness Performs delegated diagnostic procedures and therapeutic techniques in the clinical setting Documents concisely and timely in the medical records Serves as a resource through consultation, education, research, and implementation of system changes in processes and services Evaluates and applies knowledge of age-related and socioeconomic factors in the assessment, care, treatment and education of patients and their families Monitor`s and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams Represents Wesley Medical Center in all customer relations Qualifications Required Registration, Licensure or Certification Current Kansas State Board of Healing Arts: Physician Assistant, or current Kansas State Board of Nursing: Advanced P! ractice Registered Nurse Approved credentialing from the Wesley Medical Staff Office Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course, as specified in policy Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) verification course, as specified in policy Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) verification course, as specified in policy Successful completion of the Wesley Dysrhythmia exam within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency Registration) Required Education or Experience Bachelor of Science in Physicians Assistant or Masters of Science in Nursing Completion of ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant Education Program or Kansas State Board of Nursing Approved Nurse Practitioner Education Program Required Knowledge and Skills Expert clinical skills and problem solving abilities including understanding and a! pplying medical principles at an advanced level Ability to communicate ! effectively in a collegial relationship with other healthcare providers Recognized limitations and consults or refers appropriately
