Position Summary:
Assists physicians and provides care to patient during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
In accordance with appropriate licensure:
Scrubs, circulates, monitors and recovers patients for interventional cardiac procedures/treatments.
Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
Provides quality patient care through interactions with others and properly utilizes resources. Post procedure Instructions provided to patient.
Demonstrates competency in operation and usage of all equipment and supplies in department.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing policy.!
Follows radiation safety, infection control and univ! ersal precautions policies.
Performs tasks efficiently and uses time effectively when patient volume is low; willingly accepts task assignments and schedule changes as needed.
Assists with training of new employees and students.
Functions as a member of on-call team as assigned. Responds to call-backs in a professional manner and is available within the required time (STATS 30 minutes).
Seeks education and experience to expand skills and improve quality of care.
Inventories, orders, restocks, cleans, and maintains working condition of equipment and/or supplies needed for patient care.
May perform other duties as assigned or requested
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience
This position requires at least one of the following: Associate’s degree, or equivalent, from a two-year college in radiology or nursing. Critical, emergent, or procedural experience preferred.

Technical Skills
Working knowledge of basic computer systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must meet eligibility requirements for a nursing license through the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN) at the time of employment application. State licensure must be obtained prior to the date of hire.
- OR-
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers offered by the American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Provider offered by the Military Training Netwo! rk (MTN), or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer offered by the Red Cr! oss within 30 days post date of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required upon completion of orientation, not to exceed one year from date of hire.
Electrophysiology Lab requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Frequently required to push and pull items, such as patient beds, requiring a force of up to 75 pounds.
Frequently required to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds at waist height for distances up to 100 feet.

Frequently required to assist in maneuvering patients weighing 100-400 pounds and occasionally required to! assist in maneuvering patients weighing over 400 pounds.
Tolerate standing and walking for up to 6 hours at a time on hard and soft surfaces.
Frequently perform activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day.
Constantly able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
Occasionally required to sit in a stationary position for up to 30 minutes at one time.
Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as patient calls, verbal orders, monitors, and phone calls.
Frequently able to use hands and fingers to perform simple and fine motor handling tasks, such as pinching and manipulating while pushing syringes, adjusting IVs, handling intricate medical equipment, taking vital signs, writing, and using a keyboard.
Frequently able to use different types of visual perceptions to perform activities such as moving medica! l equipment, evaluating patients, reading monitors and charts, and read! ing computer screens.
Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate infection or other problems with a patient, or environmental issues such as smoke.
