- RN Trauma Registrar Adult( Job Number: 00323-10580) Work Location: United States-Kansas-Wichita-Wesley Medical Center Schedule: Full-time Description A member of the trauma servic! es team. Accountable and responsible for the delivery of consistent flow of trauma patient(s) through the Emergency Department. Maintains current accurate data within the trauma registry by collecting, entering, retrieving and reporting data related to all trauma patients treated at Wesley Medical Center, to establish supportive documentation qualifying Wesley medical Center as a Level One Trauma Center. Collects trauma patient information through chart requisition and medical records Accurately enters demographic and visit information into the trauma registry for every trauma patient treated Identifies and prepares a list of the trauma patient census on an ongoing basis to assure accurate identification of all trauma patients Prepares and presents monthly summaries of all trauma-related deaths Prepares and may be asked to present monthly statistical reports at trauma committee meetings codes injury severity for all traumatic injuries using doctor/nurses notes, prehospital ! information and radiology reports Retrieves and complies data ! for special studies that are IRB approved Prepares and submits data summaries to the State Department of Health, quarterly Prepares and submits data summaries to the National Trauma Data Bank annually Identifies payor sources and tracks and records charges, payments and write-offs Participates in trauma database user`s group meetings and periodic training Directs and reviews the work of two data entry specialists Provides statistical data as requested by members of the trauma team May be asked to assist with Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), Rural Trauma Team Development Course (RTTDC), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses within the facility and with outlying facilities, services and counties on a consistent or as requested basis May be asked to assist with presentation development for trauma "Case Conferencing" to outlying facilities, services and counties on a consistent or as requested basis May be asked to assist with preparation in the planning and/or coordinati! ng of Trauma conferences, educational events and state trauma meetings Assumes accountability for identifying problems and issues, generating solutions and anticipating effects of decision Assess, processes, and generates ideas for improvement, supports interdisciplinary approach to process improvement while maintaining individual accountability Supports commitment to fiscal priorities through appropriate management of resources Identifies opportunities for improvement and cost containment in the delivery of care and service May be asked to assist with day to day responsibility for process and process improvement (PI) activities as they relate to nursing and ancillary personnel and assist the Trauma Program Manager in carrying out these functions Participates in national, regional, state and/or local trauma organizations Demonstrates the use of Quality/Performance improvement in daily operations Leads, coaches, develops and reorganize staff to maximize performance and growt! h Performs other related job duties as required and/or directed Qualifi! cations Required Registration, Licensure or Certification Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) verification course within allotted timeframe, as specified in policy Required Education or Experience Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
