Position Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. He/she provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. He/she integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families through the continuum of care. The RN collaborates with others to in! tegrate assessment and input of the patient, family and the in! terdisciplinary team.
He/she ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision-making and problem solving. The RN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
Education:
2 year/Associate degree from an accredited school of nursing required
Experience:
1-3 years experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills:
Organizational, Verbal Communication and Assessment skills required
License, Registration and/or Certification:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of! Kansas required
Healthcare Provider CPR (American Heart Association ONLY) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 120 days of hire
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required within 90 days of hire
Successful completion of the rhythm strip recognition examination within 90 days of hire
Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one year of hire
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within one year of hire
