We serve Kansas and northeast Oklahoma through our doctors, hospitals, senior villages and health services.Position Summary: This position supports the Physicians/Providers within the outpatient clinic setting that is essential for success by providing care to patients using established standards of care and practices within the scope of their license. Assists other personnel providing delegated aspects of care.

Demonstrates knowledge of and delivers care in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act. Performs duties and presents oneself in a manner that would lead to high levels of patient satisfaction. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Tr! iages incoming and outgoing patient telephone calls. Enters pa! tient data into the EMR in preparation for the provider.

Reviews patient health records and other pertinent information in appropriate databases, updates the patient information at every point of encounter. Coordination of pharmacy prescriptions for the physicians and utilizes appropriate databases. Demonstrates ability to work efficiently in an electronic health record environment. Implements interventions based upon the physician's medical plan and standards of care including medication and treatments with knowledge of therapeutic intent.

Utilizes critical thinking to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of care; working in a patient centered medical home setting. Assists patients and families to integrate the impact of illness and recovery into their lifestyles, including, but not limited to: Actively participates in the identification of problems/issues or concerns that impede the delivery of quality care to patients and families. Promotes te! am work through collaboration, positive communication and role modeling, respecting the individuality of each patient/family and fellow staff members. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Graduate from approved college or university school of nursing; experience in office/clinic practice setting with minimum 2 years experience preferred.

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), or diploma in nursing, from an approved college or university required. BSN from an approved college or university desirable. Technical Skills Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word Working knowledge with electronic healthcare records and patient scheduling systems preferred.

Current Kansas Nursing License BLS within 30 days of hire Basic Life S! upport (BLS) for Healthcare Providers offered by the American Heart Association or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer offered by the Red Cross received within 30 days from date of hire. Frequently required to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds at waist height for distances up to 100 feet. Frequently required to lift up to 30 pounds to shoulder height. Frequently required to assist in maneuvering patients weighing 100-400 pounds and occasionally required to assist in maneuvering pa! tients weighing over 400 pounds. Tolerate standing and walking for up to 6 hours at a time on hard and soft surfaces.

Frequently perform activities that require stooping, bending and reaching, squatting, balancing, and trunk twisting throughout the day. Constantly able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form. Occasionally required to sit in a stationary position for up to 30 minutes at one time. Frequently able to detect and discern both loud and soft sounds such as patient calls, verbal orders, monitors, and phone calls.

Frequently able to use hands and fingers to perform simple and fine motor handling tasks, such as pinching and manipulating while pushing syringes, handling intricate medical equipment, taking vital signs, writing, and using a keyboard. Frequently able to use different types of visual perceptions to perform activities such as moving medical equipment, evaluating patients, reading monitors and charts, and reading computer s! creens. Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indica! te infection or other problems with a patient, or environmental issues such as smoke. Working Conditions: Outpatient clinic setting with moderate noise levels.
