JOB SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for facilitating timely and accurate hospital data submissions in the area of hospital financial, operations, and human resource data. This position directs hospital clients in appropriate mapping of hospital departments, job titles, general ledger accounts and charge codes to standardized terms used to ensure data comparability. T his position improves the delivery of reliable content thorough documentation of both processes and terminology strategies to generate repeatable and standardized outcomes. The secondary responsibility of this position is advancing the comparability of data by proactively identifying areas of opportunity, establishing data quality standards and collaborating across teams to create solutions of improvement.
DATA SUBMISSION MANAGEMENT
Facilitate the data submission process for member hospitals by leveraging available technologies to manage both hospital data content and our classification systems. Provide definitions, guidelines examples, and collaborate with Association staff and hospital members to ensure reliable comparisons.
Proactively engage hospital members to coordinate all aspects of the data submission process by providing hospital specific project management plans with milestones to ensure timely and complete data submissions. P rovide routine status reports of all hospitals throughout the data submission process.
Provide exemplary customer service including but not limited to; document changes, making adjustments to data submission project plans, and through timely resolution of data content issues.
Develop and refine documentation for data content, processes and terminology mappings that benefit both new and existing hospitals.
Identify terminology/classification standardization issues and facilitate resolution.
DATA QUALITY
Provide subject matter expertise to technical staff to automate the mapping of data to appropriate content terminology.
Proactively identify standardization opportunities and implement solutions to ensure quality and comparability for selected content areas.
Assess data content gaps and suggest solutions for improving the use by hospital members to continual ly improve product value.
Work with users of the data to research reported data anomalies, identify root causes, and determine remediation steps. Communicate and collaborate across association team members and with hospital members to develop solutions as needed.
Develop and implement processes to validate technical changes made to how the data is stored and used.
Develop and implement processes to use data from across content areas to help determine the quality of data in a particular content area.
Document and disseminate findings to the appropriate users of the data program.
Required Experience:
Education:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of healthcare billing standards such as UB Revenue Code and CPT4 charge master coding
General knowledge of hospital department functions and basic staffing profiles
Familiar with healthcare code sets like LOINC, ICD9/10, CPT and SNOMED
Demonstrated data exploration/data profiling skills; ability to uncover data quality and data integration challenges, and develop solutions
General understanding of database structures
Experience writing SQL queries preferred (select/update/delete queries that include concepts like joins and unions)
Ability to develop reports using industry standard report writing and BI tools such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects
