Olathe Health System, Inc. is the parent company of Olathe Medical Center, Miami County Medical Center and Olathe Medical Services Inc., a network of physician clinics offering care in Johnson, Miami, Anderson and Linn Counties. This position is primarily responsible for providing services to children that have been diagnosed with! moderate to severe autism and other developmental delays. The! position will collaborate with KidsTLC autism team members to implement strategies to promote cognitive, academic communication and language, behavior, and social development for the children being served. This position has the potential to increase in hours depending on program growth. POSITION SUMMARY
The SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (SLP) evaluates for, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric with acquired or congenital impairments in cognition, communication, or swallowing functions for the purpose of training or restoring the highest possible level of functional independence. The Speech Language Pathologist collaborates with the members of the interdisciplinary care team; prepares written documentation pertaining to patient evaluation and treatment sessions; schedules patient treatments and meetings; supervises the work of Rehabilitation Aides and Student Speech Language Pathologists; assist! s in preparing and conducting inservice training and continuing education programs; may participate in Performance Improvement activities and processes; and is expected to support the mission, vision, and values of Olathe Medical Center, Inc.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited school of speech language pathology.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Must have Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) designation (i.e., must be past the CFY year) from the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA). LICENSURE:
Kansas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or temporary licensure. SKILLS:
Good communication and organizational skills. CERTIFICATION:
Current Healthcare Provider CPR upon hire.
