1. Current and valid state RN License

2. Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain cur! rent.

4. Previous supervisory experience, preferred.

5. Bachelorâ??s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

7. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital E.D. setting.

8. PALS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

9. TNCC, and CEN within 2 years of hire, preferred.

10. Minimum of 4 hours of CEU in Pediatric Training Classes per year ENPC preferred.

Job description/Responsibilities
The Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the qu! ality of staff and functions during their shift. Directly supervises and communications with all staff along with the Director of the department. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.
