The employee will participate in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and ambulances.
The employee must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and maintain a high level of patient/customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions EMT-B/EMT-I/AEMT: Ability to anticipate and react to partners needs in support of patient care Ability to wo! rk independently, multi-task and manage a multi-casualty scene! Maintains professional image and promotes harmonious relationships among EMS, health care and other public service personnel and encourages communication at all levels Accurate and timely documentation of the electronic medical record Shows initiative participating in routine shift duties (daily, weekly and monthly activities) Takes on-call and event standby time per guidelines of the different agencies May perform other duties as assigned or requested EMT-B Proficiently performs skills within the scope of practice of an EMT-B in a compassionate caring manner EMT-I Proficiently performs skills within the scope of practice of an EMT-I in a compassionate caring manner AEMT Proficiently performs skills within the scope of practice of an AEMT in a compassionate caring manner. Proficiently performs ALS skills: advanced airway management, IV/IO insertion, medication administration as approved by the Kansas Board of EMS, electrocardiogram interpretation, defibrillation and pacing! . ParamedicPosition Summary: Works with other nursing staff providing professional nursing/patient care including a comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs, planning, coordination, teaching, documenting, counseling and providing direct physical care.
Evaluates patient response to care and progress towards outcomes. Assists other personnel providing delegated aspects of care. Demonstrates knowledge of and delivers care in within the training received and under direct supervision of a physician. Performs duties and presents oneself in a manner that would lead to high levels of patient satisfaction.
Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team.Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Delivers the ideal patient experience through a customer centric approach. Provides direct patient care performi! ng procedures, tests and administering medications in which they have received training on under the direct supervision of a physician. Demonstrates patient/family focus in the provision of care, adhering to standards. Implements interventions based upon the physician's medical plan and standards of care including medication and treatments with knowledge of therapeutic intent. Utilizes critical thinking to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of care. Provides professional nursin! g care based upon identified nursing problems, including, but not limited to: Nutrition and fluids Safety and protection Pain management, comfort, rest and sleep Emotional support Infection prevention and control Prevention of complications Maintaining a therapeutic environment Maintenance in continuum of care Assists patients and families to integrate the impact of illness and recovery into their lifestyles, including, but not limited to: Patient/family education Discharge planning Appropriate referrals Actively participates in the identification of problems/issues or concerns that impede the delivery of quality care to patients and families.
Retains accountability for the completeness of the electronic medical record related to the provision of nursing care and interdisciplinary communication. Recognizes the importance of verbal and nonverbal communication in all patient/family care activities and interactions with interdisciplinary team members. Promotes team wo! rk through collaboration, positive communication and role modeling, res! pecting the individuality of each patient/family and fellow staff members. Supports the management team in establishing and implementing goals of the unit, including quality activities, staff meetings, performing unit related tasks as requested and by increased awareness of own responsibility to help contain costs.
Follows hospital, departmental and OSHA standards, policies, procedures and precautions in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment. Frequently able to use different types of visual perceptions to perform activities such as moving medical equipment, evaluating patients, reading monitors and charts, and reading computer screens. Occasionally required to detect unusual odors that could indicate infection or other problems with a patient, or environmental issues such as smoke. May encounter situations of aggressive, comba! tive behavior from another individual requiring safety intervention or ! egress.
