Description: Overland Park Regional Medical Center is looking of Lab Systems Coordinator - Full-Time Evenings right now, this career will be situated in Kansas. Under the direct supervision of the Director/Section Manager/Operations Manager/Lead Technologist/Medical Technologist/Medical Labora! tory Technician performs preanalytic testing responsibilities including clerical duties, data entry, specimen collection, and specimen processing.

Performs testing on blood and body fluids as defined by CLIA 1988.

Additional duties include oversees daily workflow, monitors uncollected lists and resolves, assists with scheduling, double checks outpatient test orders against computer placed order, assists in training new staff, daily cleaning of work area, restocks and maintains inventory of supplies, maintains non-analytic equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and centrifuges, maintains a safe work area, and demonstrates professional work habits, positive interpersonal skills and great customer service.

The Lab Services Coordinator collects specimens from birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 ! years and older. Acts as a resource for LTAs/LSTs.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required

Licensure/

Certifications: Phlebotomy certification preferred. Computer skills (typing, keyboarding) required. Strong customer relation skills required. Good technical and phlebotomy skills preferred.

Experience: One year experience in a medical laboratory required or college course work in biological/chemical sciences or graduate of phlebotomy course plus 6 months experience. Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
