Registered nurses are committed to improving the health of the individuals and communities we serve, especially those who are poor or vulnerable, supporting our mission in all aspects of their professional practice. This practice includes direct care activities as well as acts of delegation, coordination, and collaboration, and encompasses all aspects of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The registered nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing care that their patients receive and for the conformity of that care to nationally, regionally, and locally accepted standards of care and best practice.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.
Education & Experience:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing . A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the attainment of a degree as noted above. Minimum of 1 year experience in the acute care setting in the past 18 months.
Licensure/Certification:
Current, unrestricted license in the State of Kansas BLS certification, Healthcare Provider status per the American Heart Association. Current ACLS Certification Completion of Basic EKG Course TNCC ( Trauma Nurse Core Course) ENPC ( Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) or PALS ( Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Preferred Education Licensure/Certification BSN Preferred CEN Preferred
Special Skills/Aptitudes :
Assessment & judgment skills necessary to assess a patient’s condition and to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing comprehensive care to patients and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions. Exceptional customer service skills to meet and, whenever possible, exceed patient & family needs and expectations . Exceptional communication skills.
